Some parts needed to be approved by Parliament, the export credit ones. The Almi loans were approved immediately as it was within the government's power to enforce them. The Parliament approved the package on 2 April and the schemes are being put into place.

Background

• The government announced on 20 March that they are adding an additional SEK 125bn in loans
• The loans will be structured in three parts, as per the following: to smaller companies through Almi, and to export related companies through SEK and EKN
• To clarify: there are two separate Swedish state-owned agencies that work with export questions: EKN and SEK
• SEK provides credit to exporting companies and their suppliers
• EKN insures export trades for Swedish companies
