Why Forto Calculates its CCF
Calculating Forto's Company Climate Footprint (CCF) is fundamental to understanding our impact on the environment, deriving a reduction roadmap and measuring related progress towards our science-based targets. Many of our partners, customers and investors require transparency on our emissions to work together.
Process CCF Calculation
Forto has been calculating its CCF since its foundation in 2016 on an annual basis. From 2023 onwards, we are calculating it on a quarterly basis to better monitor emissions and be able to implement emission reduction actions throughout the year.
The sustainability team is responsible for the CCF calculation, but data contributors are spread throughout the entire organisation (such as office management, people & culture, and accounting). Where available, primary data is used. The data is added to the Cozero platform, which converts input data into emissions associated with the activities. The transport emissions are calculated on a shipment level (broken down into the different transport legs) with our partner Lune and are integrated into the Cozero platform to allow for a full picture of all emissions. Both Cozero's and Lune’s methodology are aligned with the GHG protocol. Emissions are calculated in CO2e (thereby including all relevant greenhouse gasses) and on a WTW basis.
Once the CCF calculation for a respective time period is complete, the data is analysed to improve (1) emission reduction and (2) data quality. Actions are then prioritised based on the impact they will have on Forto’s CCF.
2022 Company Climate Footprint (CCF)
Forto calculates its CCF covering all relevant activities across its value chain, including scope 1, 2 and all relevant scope 3 categories. All emissions are in CO2e.
